Prefers a homeless dog

Generally, I prefer to mongrel dogs, especially when are street's dogs who have suffered much in life. I prefer to adopt a dog from the street to one that sold, such as dogs of breed. However, there are very beautiful breed dogs. For me the most beautiful breeds are the Siberian Husky and Akita. Perhaps both have similar features, but are 2 very different dogs. These races I like for its fur and physical characteristics. In the case of Siberian I like more because I have one. The Husky is a very special dog. This is a dog is usually very intelligent but also very stubborn. It also has a greater ability to vocalize, producing different sound that other dogs can hardly do. It is also a quiet dog, but when it excites is a dog very agile, strong and powerful, so are busy to pull sleds. The Akita is a larger dog, because it measures between 66 to 71 meters at the cross in compare with the Siberian that is between 53 and 60 meters at the cross. In addition, the Akita has a curly tail and has a thicker snout unlike the Siberian.

A travel.... pictures

About one year ago traveled with my brother to the Conguillio National Park located in the foothills of the ninth region, in the province of Cautín. We went for a few days in early May, during the autumn when forests change dolor to after the trees drop their leaves.

This photo was took for my brother as we walked the second day through the national park on the road through Conguillio. Near the site of the photo, there is a lagoon that has differet colors, so called Laguna Arcoiris. Later of the site there is other lagoon, called Laguna Verde.

As mentioned before, this photo was taken in May 2011.

This picture I like for the color of the forest ar that time, the green of the Coigues, yellow of the Robles, the orange of the Raulies, besides the dark soil that is of volcanic origin.

This national park should be one of the most beautiful of Chile, for its variety of places, colorful lagoons and large lakes, its forests of Araucarias and other types like the one pictured. In general, the Region of the Araucania should have the most beautiful places in Chile, even more beautiful than others further south or north of our country.

Vet?

During my childhood I had not many dreams and much less thought at dedicating myself to something in particular. I never thought a profession in which to work in the future. Therefore, at the time to postulate for university, I did not knew which career to choose. Finally, I postulated to veterinary medicine as first choice and the other options that were elected are the engineering in different areas. When I began to study the career, I knew better and I realized it was interesting and entertaining compared to others. I also really knew the area of veterinary medicine and I can know one of their areas that I liked. This area was not precisely the most well known, because I was interested in the area of conservation of biodiversity, wildlife and the environment, which are hardly considered in the faculty. By this reason the way of work is different from other professions, especially in this area, where there is more work in the field and different management, whether in research, administration or management pertaining to these issues. This makes it a more dynamic type of work and maybe not so routine.

The Little Fox

There are many beautiful and fantastic animals. In Chile there very special animal and species and there are some that are only present in our country, can be found in the temperate forest, in the mountains of Nahuelbuta and island of Chiloé. An example of this is the Darwin's fox (Pseudalopex fulvipes) that only lives in Chile.

The Darwin's fox is the smallest of the foxes that live here in Chile and this fox have a body length of approximately 53 cms, a tail length of approximately 22 cms, and they weigh between 2 and 3 kgs. They are dark grey in colour with a pale coloured underside. Darwin's foxes mainly feed on small mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, insects and fruits.

In addition, there have been various efforts to conserve this species. However, it is an endangered species and has been threatened by habitat loss due to forestal companies, hunting and diseases transmitted by dogs.

It is very important that we protect this species as many others. We must preserve our flora and fauna.

My opinion

-What is your opinion about owning an exotic pet?

I disagree with the possession of exotic animals, mainly because they are not accustomed to the human species generally, plus they are detained because they were removed from their natural environment. They are generally used as ornamentals animals, unlike a dog, a cat, a cow or a horse, which they are used for other purposes. Furthermore, the purchase of exotic species encourages its exploitation and removal from their places of origin and encourages the production of these species in captivity.

-What is your opinion about the Chilean politicians?

In Chile there is much influence of power, which handles the politicians without bothering them. There is a political-economic system based on exploitation of natural resources, in the free market (free looting), in a ''democracy'' with a binomial system that complements it, established during dictatorship. In addition, exist a communication strategy to control what people are see, hear or read, through TV channels, newspapers and media communication controlled by the Chilean elite, all this in a stream of disinformation for not to alert the public of the issues of real interest, showing stupid things on Chilean TV and to maintain the status quo of Chilean politics  that interested to elite of this country. After the dictatorship, the false left-wing chilean maintained and perfected the neoliberalism, that established the right-wing chilean through the weapons with U.S. help. All this was decided by the Chilean political class, without any involvement of the opinion and decision of the Chilean people, as has been for decades, establishing a brutal consumerism, privatization of state duties and belongings, environmental destruction by extractive business, nothing civic education  and creating a commercial society.

-What is your opinion about killing stray dogs?


All animals have right to live, including those who aren't to blame for the irresponsibility of some people. There is a very irresponsible of people that throw a dog into the street. There is also an ideology of human superiority over other animals, a anthropocentrism that constantly influencing in people for throw their animals at the street. Besides the ignorance along with the evil of some persons.

-What is your opinion about  climate change?

I'm not sure if climate change is the fault of mankind, or is a natural process of the earth, but what if I'm sure the biosphere will not resist much people on it. The 7000 million people that inhabit the earth are monopolizing the resources that are available for all species. If humanity continues to grow at that rate, if the humanity continue to destroy natural hábitats, if the human continues to drain resources, the planet's biosphere will not resist. Are constantly disrupting ecosystem processes. Unfortunately, the mortality rates are low and the birth rate are high. so, human growth would exhaust the resources.

-What is your opinion about recycling?

Recycling is an important process to reuse wastes or reoccupy raw materials for make new products. However, we must raise awareness to help to recycle, otherwise there will not be success.

Technological Artifacts

Currently I have no technological artifact that is a favorite for me. For now, the most used device is the computer, which helps me to communicate (other than the cell phone). I also use it to perform different jobs, I need to study and search for information that I may need on the Internet. The computer I use it often, because I have a lot of information into it. I don't like to use it just for the pleasure, I use it out of necessity because I prefer to devote my time to other activities and not spend all day dealing with the computer.

This electronic technology product is very helpful to save time, to facilitate information management and data and even for entertainment, but it is not essential to life like many other devices as TV, radio, automobiles and others. In fact, without many of them probably life would be better, since they promote unnecessary consumerism among other problems.

Although without these technological devices the activities would delay more time to perform it, but in a different form of life this products even would be useless.
